Manor House

Hampshire

The brief for this 5000-square foot Victorian townhouse was to transform the interior in to a setting that was inviting, stylish and practical. Our clients, a young couple with two children, are also keen art collectors and we drew on the style and palette of their collection to bring a fresh look to the four-storey property.

Previously starkly lit, we introduced layers of decorative lighting – pendants, lamps and wall sconces - to soften the atmosphere of the large, double-height rooms. At the same time, textured woods, stone surfaces, heavy linens and mohair wools, set against muted wall colours, added an understatedly luxurious note.

Everyday surfaces, in the kitchen or living room for instance, were also chosen to withstand the wear and tear of family life.
